BSAS Now Meeting at Adventure Science Center
18 March 2004
Those of you who missed the March meeting of the Barnard-Seyfert Astronomical Society, or had to leave before it was
over (yes, it was a long meeting!) also missed some exciting news. The BSAS has been offered the opportunity
to meet YEAR-ROUND at the Adventure Science Center overlooking
downtown Nashville. This is a historic step for the BSAS, and the benefits to BSAS members (and the visiting public) are almost too numerous to list.
- The ASC is centrally located and easy to reach from all around Nashville, only two minutes from the south loop of I-40.
- The ASC's meeting rooms can accomodate up to 250 people. Not only can the entire club now meet at once, but we have plenty of room to grow!
- The ASC provides plenty of paved, lighted and secure parking facilities, making our monthly meetings even more accessible to all our members.
- The ASC is open year-round, and access is safe and easy for all our members.
- BSAS brochures and announcements can give directions to our year-round meeting place. Members can offer open invitations to their friends without regard for the date or the weather.
- The Sudekum Planetarium at ASC offers us opportunities for group instruction that simply cannot be overstated. Its 116-seat capacity is more than adequate for current BSAS meetings as well!
Now more than ever, the BSAS is poised to continue growing and providing even more benefits to its members.
We hope you'll join us as we work to encourage and
promote amateur astronomy in Middle Tennessee.
